Foundations Recovery Network wanted to convert an existing 300 plus acre golf course into its newest healing environment for addiction recovery. Schley Nelson Architects started with 11 existing buildings on the site for use in the project. Three of the smaller buildings were converted into offices, one was demolished with a new office constructed in its place. The two hotels were connected by adding a new fitness center and offices as well as a new glass connector to maintain the visual link to the natural surroundings and helping promote the healing environment. The hotel guest rooms were converted into the new patient rooms. All treatment buildings were connected using a series of outdoor and covered paths and ramps for accessibility.
