ALLEGIANCE HEALTH CARDIAC CATH LAB

PROJECT SUMMARY

The Allegiance Health Cardiac Catheterization Lab #3 project was done as an infill of an existing shelled space on the ground floor of the hospital. The intent from Allegiance was to create a Cath Lab that fit into the existing Heart Center’s visual motif of “Wow.” One of the ways in which this was accomplished was with the installation of electrified glass that was used as separation between the control room and the Lab.

This particular type of glass will be opaque when the power is on, but clear when off.

The new Cath Lab space also allowed for successful patient flow with great line of site. The area's elements gave off a warm feel for staff and helped patients transition into a more calm state. The ceiling of the room was made with high quality acoustical materials while the walls were also created using sound insulation and made to be easily cleanable.

Schley Nelson provided Allegiance with a design that increased the efficiency for their Cardiac Center and enhanced the overall health environment for patients and staff, while also instilling patients with a sense of trust in the Hospital as a whole.
